If you are streaming, recording, or doing lore on Lunar and chat is being shown on your stream/recording, you are obligated to do the following:- Notify those online when you are going to start lore and/or recording/streaming.
- Notify those who join during your lore that you are doing lore and/or recording/streaming.
- Notify everyone when you have completed lore and/or recording/streaming.

In Charge Of: Wither SkeletonsWrath is one of the leaders of the Seven Deadly Sins; he was also one of the first of the Major Gods to be created. He has control of all the Nether Fortresses and frequently restocks them for new travelers or explorers. Additionally, he is in charge of and can spawn hoards of Wither Skeletons. He is in a long term relationship with fellow sin, Lust, and they are considered married by most gods.Wrath’s influence causes people to be more angry and full of rage, even sometimes causing them to grow violent.Though initially invested in the plan to take over the Overworld, he was mostly following Pride's lead. He is perfectly content back in the Nether with Lust...and a new addition to their little family.

Pride is one of the leaders of the Seven Deadly Sins; he was also one of the first of the Major Gods to be created. He has control of all the Nether Wastes and has one goal in mind: to rule the Overworld, Nether, and the End. Pride is obsessed with control and will do anything to keep it.Pride’s influence over people causes them to be more sure in their own actions, even when they’re wrong, to the point of their own detriment.Pride was killed by c!Masked in the final battle for the Overworld, effectively sending him back to the Nether, unable to get out. Pride is currently locked in his mansion by the other Sins, the mansion being dubbed "baby nether jail," by Lust.

Lust is friendly with everyone he meets, going out of his way to stop plans he knows are wrong, and has a fascination with frogs!Lust has been through a lot since his initial debut, from being controlled by Pride, to gaining his full powers back - this guy has been all over the place! Now fully powered like the rest of the Lunar gods, many questions remain about Lust...especially with recent sightings of him in the Overworld, despite the sins being locked away.

In Charge Of: BrutesGreed is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. He is in charge of the Bastion and the piglin brute’s within it. Greed, along with his twin, Gluttony, seem to operate away from the rules of the Sins and don’t listen to Pride or Wrath when they give orders.Greed’s influence causes characters to be greedy in many ways, and his influence goes hand in hand with Gluttony’s, making the characters want to hoard more and more items of any kind.Greed, like Wrath, is perfectly content being back in the warm Nether - he and Gluttony never quite liked how cold the Overworld was compared to their home.

Pride uses Sloth’s influence to make characters feel more secure and safe about the goings on of the server.Sloth is close friends with Lust and the two are frequently found in Sloth’s cabin smoking or hunting frogs together.

In Charge Of:Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. He is in charge of the Warped Forest, but has no mob to be in charge of. Envy, along with Lust, we’re one of the last gods to be created.Envy’s power consists of being in connection with the mycelium network - they can hear anything on the server through nearby mushrooms, and their powers are used by Pride to listen in and get information on people.Envy’s influence causes people to be more envious and jealous, even for irrational reasons.Envy, now unsure of his purpose since the Sins have been defeated, continues to eavesdrop on the Overworld through the mycelium connection to the mushrooms.

In Charge Of: All Ocean LifeTrident is the ruler of the Oceans - unlike other Gods who created their children at the permission of “the Creator,” Trident was the first to break off and have children with mortals and other gods.Trident, ever since his oldest daughter, Opal, went missing, has become more harsh and strict with his ruling - this only became more apparent when the Moon tried to ask him for Spawn Town’s water to return. They refused, saying the Moon had not been keeping the tides correct and on schedule and her mortals would not be allowed to continue to use their water while Opal was missing.Trident created the magical barrier in Spawn Town’s water and disappeared, refusing an audience with any of the mortals or gods of the server, only communicating to his daughters from the shadows of the Oceans.

Domain: Deep OceanOpal is the ruler of the Deep Ocean and Trident’s first daughter. Beloved by the citizens of the Ocean, she was the first child to be awarded the ruling of her own biome. This however, made her the target of many attacks, because she was only a demigod and many Gods of Lunar didn’t deem her worthy of ruling over her own biome.As her siblings began to take rule of their own biomes, Opal felt her power start to dwindle and she fell ill, but never mentioned this to anyone. She began to search for a cure to her illness, experimenting with the few gods she had befriended, but was unable to find any cure.SEASON THREE: She is currently “missing” and her father is under the impression that she has been kidnapped - but in all reality, she ran away and joined a pirate crew, traveling the oceans with her new friends in a desperate attempt to find a cure to her illness and power loss.

Domain: Warm OceanEmeraldina is the ruler of the Warm Ocean and the second oldest daughter of Trident, born just one year after her sister, Opal. They care deeply about the ocean life, especially the tropical fish in the area.She grew fascinated with human life in her teenage years, and began to research them by obtaining items that were found in the water near Spawn Town. She frequently listened in on Pirate Cove, listening to all the pirate’s stories of mortals in the area. She lives in the nearby warm ocean…which is very close to their sibling, Mira, who they do not get along very well with.SEASON THREE: When they noticed that the tides were not coming in as planned, she grew angry and informed her father…though they never intended for him to grow so angry.

Domain: Cold OceanSage is the ruler of the Cold Ocean and third eldest child of King Trident. They have always prided themselves in being Trident’s favorite and never had any interest in the Overworld issues beyond the sea.They have always followed the orders of their father without question, including removing the water from Spawn Town and assisting him in creating the magical barrier. This has caused increasing issues between them and their twin, Serena, who believes they shouldn’t be interfering with the citizen’s lives.SEASON THREE: Sage will be one of the biggest problems for citizens trying to get the water back, because they hold the key to bringing it back entirely - they have control of the magical barrier.

Domain: Deep Cold OceanSerena is the ruler of the Deep Cold Ocean and the fourth oldest daughter of King Trident, just slightly younger than her twin, Sage.Unlike her twin, she is a rebellious and never has supported her family interfering with the lives of the citizens of the Overworld; she believes the world could move freely on it’s own, without the help of any Gods.SEASON THREE: Serena is assisting some of her siblings in trying to get the water back to Spawn Town without the help of Sage…and Serena is leading the charge against her twin.

Neva and Kai are always together and had bunk beds as children…they enjoyed it so much that they have bunk beds in each others’ houses now and stay at one house together every night! They are frequently followed around by their pet polar bear, Nala.SEASON THREE: While Kai wants to assist with returning the water to the citizens, Neva is more shy and nervous about going against their father…and interacting with citizens for the first time.

Domain: Deep Lukewarm OceanMira is the youngest of Trident’s daughters and the ruler of the Deep Lukewarm Ocean. They have always followed their siblings around, annoying them like a typical younger sibling. As Mira grew older, they became more closed off and quiet, not trying to annoy them or cause any problems, though always remained close to Opal, who cared for her the most. She always did her duty…until recently. When Mira is not in her come, they are searching the sea for their lost sibling, Opal.SEASON THREE: Mira has been leaving information around Spawn Town, especially in Pirate Cove, for people to find and assist in returning the water. Since she is the youngest and most unsuspecting, Serena thought it would be easiest for her to assist in helping the citizens, especially since she is so absent in their lives.

Name: Cordelia

Domain: Lukewarm OceanCordelia is extremely loyal to her family and will always stick by them, but lately has had a lot of conflict due to the water leaving Spawn Town. She is the ruler of the Lukewarm Ocean, which is near a mermaid city known as Eleyrith.She has always rebelled in secret though, even going as far to sneak out to see her great love, Melody, a common mermaid in the nearby community. The two of them met when they snuck out of the palace in her younger years, before she had her own home, and the two met while she was acting as just a normal citizen. The two fell in love, but were pulled apart by Coredlia’s duty to her family. Her heartbreak of being away from her love transformed into the Heart of the Sea.SEASON THREE: Melody has recently made contact again with Cordelia after being separated for a long period, she begs for her help in assisting Serena in going against her family. Will Cordelia assist them? Or will she buckle under the pressure and remain loyal to her family?

Character Species on Lunar

Below is a list of all known species on the Lunar SMP. Just because a species is not listed on here, does not mean your character cannot be one! Feel free to add new ones.

Humans - Regular humans, regular life span of humans, no special powers.Hybrids - Hybrids are half one species, half the other. Hybrids powers are dependent on what they are half of. Hybrids can be half any mob or species on the server. (example: half human, half enderman) The hybrid category includes any half gods or demons.Gods - Not available for the average player but still characters on the server. Gods of the server have different ruling domains they are in charge of. Some Gods are able to reproduce (example: the Sun or the Moon) while others are unable (example: the Seven Deadly Sins). Each god has a ruling domain and some rule over mobs as well. These beings are as old as the world itself and have seen generations of people live in their world.Elves - The species of elves is almost entirely missing (along with many other species of the SMP) due to a war in the past of the SMP, long before any of our time. Many elf types were killed off, while the snow elves made a deal with the druids to live underground. Many elves were killed after the druids grew as bitter as the rest of the SMP and attempted to enslave them. Could any of this species still be left on the server?Demons and Half-Demons - Demons (and half-demons) are from the Nether. Demons have no set age other than the forms they choose to have and can live much longer than any humans. They commonly go to the surface to cause mischief but some come to the surface simply to just live among the SMP. The ones who are here to cause trouble for the Seven Deadly Sins, however…Vampires - Vampires are immortal beings who survive off of the blood of humans or other species to survive. They can walk in sunlight on the Lunar SMP as long as they are protected by armor due to the original Vampire Queen being a “friend” of the Sun God.Nymphs - Immortal beings who were charged with protecting the wilderness of the Overworld by the Sun and Moon, this species has all but disappeared from the Lunar SMP without direction from the gods. But perhaps, some still exist…Fallen Stars - Not to be confused with the Fallen Star Colony/group (you must ask before joining the group but you can be a Fallen Star species), a Fallen Star is a “gift” from the Sun or Moon. While some simply fall in the form of gifts such as diamonds around the server, sometimes they are more than that, sometimes they are their own beings entirely. Fallen Stars have various powers depending on where they are from (the Sun or the Moon). When a star falls, almost always (with a few exceptions) they lose their memory of their time as a star with the Sun or Moon - memories are slowly regained in fragments. Each star has a different story, some were considered gifts from the Sun and Moon to each other, some stars fell on their own, while others could even be children of the Sun and Moon themselves…Robots/Androids - Robots are otherworldly constructs who have traveled through the planes from another time and dimension. You have no ability to cross back to your world, yet you constantly seek to get home, wherever that is, which you don't know. Being an entity of logic, this presents you a huge logical dilemma and robots don't prefer to discuss this with anyone. Instead, you have become sentient and self-repairing to your now defunct programming. You have the ability to alter your program slightly every week, trying to find your way through life. You have developed nano-technology in your circuits that slowly repair broken components. You seek out processed metal and silicon at any opportunity to keep as spare building materials.Fairies - Fairies are peacekeepers and archivists of the server. Formerly living in the Land of Serenity, newer generations of fairies now live in Stillhallow following the rebellion. Older generations still live in Serenity, however, no one can enter or leave the land. Fairies have various powers - there are many categories of fairies that you can read with the help of Lily, the local archivist fairy. Fairies lifespan differ from the average species, for every 10 human years, it’s 500 years for a fairy (example: a fairy is 20 human years old, they are 1000 in fairy years). The fairies have documented the history of the Lunar SMP for generations, but many books were lost when some fairies split from Serenity to move to Stillhallow.Witch/Warlock- Witches/Warlocks are mortal beings in-tune with magic of the server. The source of this magic, however, differs depending on the type of witch they are. Being this species, you can decide how your character is magically in-tuned with the server (for example: nature, deities, etc.).

Lunar SMP: A Survival Guide

While the Lunar SMP has some heavy lore, some players do not engage in lore. At the end of the day, we are an SMP: a survival multiplayer server. No one is obligated to be involved with lore or ever make a character (pressuring someone to do/engage with lore with you is against our lore rules section).- Farms are permitted on the server as long as they do not lag - if lagging beings, you will be asked to remove it.- Stealing and griefing is not allowed on the Lunar SMP; we run with CoreProtect and can see when someone steals something. Theft/griefing is against our server rules and you will receive a strike.- Killing members without their permission for whatever reason (a joke, to take items, etc) is not permitted.- Your gamemode will not be taken out of survival for any reason unless you are on the moderator team. Moderators use creative to do large lore builds, do server maintenance, etc.- The Lunar SMP has several community farms for your use including a villager trading hut. Please ensure that you feed the animals/replant if you use community farms.

Lunar SMP: A Building Guide

- You can build anywhere on the Lunar SMP as long as it does not build too close to another build. For example, do not build directly on top of someone’s house/build without asking if it’s okay first.
- When it comes to building in communities, please ask the community leader/owner for permission first. For example, if you want to build in Rivershore, you’d contact the player that owns it, Cait.
- Mob farms and redstone farms are allowed as long as they don’t lag the server - if the server starts to lag, you will be asked to remove your farm.
- Anyone can start a community on Lunar!
- Once your Nether portal is created, moderators will connect it to the Nether Highway system.
- Please be respectful of your fellow members of Lunar, you are not permitted to make rude/mean comments towards someone’s build or building style.

Lunar SMP: The Story

The Lunar SMP is ruled by several Gods across the realms - the Sun and Moon rule the Overworld and the Seven Deadly Sins rule the Nether. The balance though, is almost always disrupted by constant power struggles between the gods. As these gods struggle for power, the citizens of the Lunar SMP try to navigate their every day life, live through the latest god-cause disaster, and try to survive.

Lore Basics

- Every character has a communicator; the communicator essentially functions as an in-game cell phone for your character. They can use it to make calls, video calls, and send messages. To use the text feature in lore in chat, simply type “TXT PlayerName: Message.”- Every character canonically has four lives unless otherwise stated. Your character can choose to immediately respawn after losing a canon life or wait a while and experience limbo - use “/warp go limbo” in-game to check it out. After losing all four canon lives, your character can choose to be a ghost or remain in limbo until someone discovers the Resurrection Book and resurrects you.

Create a Character

To start off, the most important thing about Lunar SMP lore: There has not and will not ever be a main character of the Lunar SMP, everyone on here has amazing characters they bring to the table and we want to make sure we have a story that anyone can fit into.Some of the basics of character creation:
- There are many species available on Lunar to play or you can create your own if it isn’t listed.
- Your character cannot be a god.
- Your character does not have to have the same name as you. If they do have the same, we ask that you list them as c!YourName to differentiate in lore recaps and speaking about the character.
- Your character cannot have any powers that are not accessible in Minecraft (potions and effects are okay).
- Your character can be a child to any of the gods except the Seven Deadly Sins - these characters do not reproduce. Your character can also have a relationship with any of the gods (except the Sins) if you write it out with the moderators.

Recapping Your Lore

Something we don’t want on Lunar is lost lore moments - even after the VODs are long-deleted or if you don’t stream. In order to help with this, the moderators created Lunar SMP Updates on Twitter. You are responsible for sending your recaps to the #official-lore-recaps channel on the Lunar SMP discord - moderators will not recap or remind you to recap your lore, we just post them when they are available. We react to the message when it is posted and available on twitter.Bee has created some helpful information for people posting lore recaps:As we tweet out recaps, we're refining and deciding on the style in which we want to tweet them out. We tweet them all out in the same way, so as we edit them we realize there are some things that we're consistently editing as we go through them. These are in no way targeted at anyone, just things we've noticed that we've changed for many people.If you guys are willing), you could really help us out by doing these things as you write your summaries:- use lowercase c's when indicating characters (ex: "c!Bee" instead of "C!Bee")- capitalize all character names (ex: "c!Bee" instead of "c!bee")- no spaces between the c! and the character name (ex: "c!Bee" instead of "c! Bee" or "c !Bee)- add periods to the end of each lore recap message (ex: "c!Bee leapt off the mountain. instead of "c!Bee leapt off the mountain")- don't add "c!" in front of god names (ex: Lust instead of c!Lust)- Add "-" at the beginning of each new bullet for easy reading (bc there's more separation btwn each point)- If you don't know something that happened or what something is called, feel free to ask a mod or whoever did the lore with you! We usually have to go into the vod to try and figure out what that "something" is or who killed who so that the recap doesn't say "and then someone else died idk who" (that is not a quote of anyone's words that's just an example!!).- It's helpful if you link the vod you're recapping and give us a title for your lore at the beginning/end of the recap.- It's helpful to include the date of the lore (Twitch says "X days ago" which can be confusing)- Lastly, remember that these recaps are meant to keep people up to date on the lore, and if all the recaps are long they can get lost. Try to keep them as short, sweet, and to the point as possible while still not leaving out the important details:)We might add more if we go. Thank you and we hope you help us out:)

Character Creation Advice

Character creation advice (by Sav, who has created many characters for Lunar).

- Don’t know what you want to do for your character? That’s completely okay! Just pick a species and run with it, figure it out later on and let the character grow with you on Lunar.- Don’t like your character? Retcon them! (Or in Sav’s case, kill them off!) You can always change your character on Lunar to someone entirely new. Additionally, you can always have another character alongside the other - there is no limit to how ever many characters you can have on the server (just make sure you introduce them separately).- Have a friend on the SMP and don’t know what to so with your own character? Make them an old friend or forgotten relative of your friend’s character. We build off each other’s lore here on Lunar and everyone is always willing to help.- Feel like the current arc isn’t for you or need a break? Your character can fade into the background whenever you want and you can bring them back whenever you want!

Gods of Lunar

The gods of the Lunar SMP are already set - your character cannot be a god. The God characters (minor or major) are played by moderators who are trained on and/or wrote the character using the LunarTheos accounts - these accounts are designated only for doing lore involving the gods and do not belong to one specific player on the server.If you need one of the gods for your lore, please schedule by pinging moderators in the #lunartheos-lore-scheduling channel of our discord.
